I will talk about the problem that generated the single national exam
knowledge in medicine (EUNACOM).
We as medical students, we have problems with eunacom because we believe it should be an enabler test (which enables us to work in the public health system, and private as well) and not an examination to select students (which allows us to pursue a medical specialty).
EUNACOM currently works as the two purposes above, and based on its mission to select students, the state charges students applying this test (we´ll have to pay it), remembering that if not given this consideration, one can not practice as a doctor in the system public and private (mission enabler).
As students we demand the creation of an enabling test to practice medicine, that have to be paid by the state and other test to select students, who pay for students interested in pursuing a medical specialty.
Student has organized workshops, demonstrations, discussions with officials of medical schools and government, which has led to the ministry of health are designed to create two tests, so everything seems okay.
Personally I think it should be, but also add a test of skills, since many private universities, the students get out with little or no practical knowledge in higher yielding theoretical post, which will be used by these universities for marketing, making Applicants believe that the outcome of eunacom defines the quality of the doctor, but that is far from reality.
While I believe that private universities do, and the business of education is bad enough, I also think it's good because incentives to universities to improve and compete, and make them clear that they have no guaranteed job field only because they´re universities for so many years.
